How is Base4NFDI integrated into NFDI? ... and how are Basic Services created?
Base4NFDI is part of a structure that encompasses different organs to come to an agreement on basic services, the development of topics in sections, and the internal and external strategy of the NFDI (see figure).
In short, basic services originate in NFDI sections. The proposals are evaluated by the Technical Expert Committee (TEC). The Consortia Assembly (CA) makes the final decision on the basic services, which after successful development will become part of the Service Portfolio that are interoperable with international policies.
Base4NFDI's strategy is evaluated by the International Advisory Board (IAB). The TEC and IAB are appointed by the CA. The Office (Task Area 4; TA4) supports the TEC, IAB, and the Management Committee (MC). The MC interlinks the strategic decisions made by the NFDI Association bodies with the operative elements in Base4NFDI. The Service Stewards (SER) support the basic service development.
