Every two months we will share the latest updates about upcoming Base-relevant events and presentations, insights into the basic service development, and notify you about interesting resources to keep you informed and inspired.

Brief updates from the basic services
- IAM4NFDI
- The 4th incubator cycle started in August. It contains 5 new projects. You can find an overview of their incubator projects here.
- TS4NFDI
- The 2nd Incubator cycle started in August. You can find an overview of their incubator projects here.
- A new developer for API Gateway joined in August 2025.
- PID4NFDI
- PID4NFDI held an on-site workshop on metadata and PID workflows in DMP/ELN tools (with their focus groups) on 22 & 23 September in Berlin. Slides of the lightning talks can be found in their Zenodo Community.
- In recent months, the PID4NFDI team has been highly active across the research community, sharing insights on the project and the critical role of PIDs in the research data lifecycle.
- We were pleased to present at the CoRDI conference, with our contribution available on Zenodo. At the UC4B conference, we showcased our new PID selection tool, documented on Zenodo.
- Furthermore, we presented posters at both the NFDI4Culture Culture Community Plenary in Mainz and the FDM@Campus event in Göttingen, continuing to engage with diverse NFDI consortia and the broader research data management community.
- In addition to our community engagement activities, the PID4NFDI project successfully held an on-site workshop on metadata and PID workflows in DMP/ELN tools attended by developers and technical architects of ELN and DMP tools. Metadata and interoperability experts from NFDI consortia and representatives from incubator projects focusing on ELN/DMP integration in Berlin on September 22nd & 23rd. Slides from the lightning talks and the introduction talk by Sara El-Gebali, as well as the slides on training materials from Torsten Kahlert are available in our Zenodo Community and can be accessed via the event's timetable too.
- DMP4NFDI
- DMP4NFDI has published their Template Framework as their last Initialisation deliverable.
- The team has started the onboarding of their first incubator projects. An open call for further incubators will be published on 15 November 2025.
- The project has published their Train-the-Trainer concept on Zenodo.
- Jupyter4NFDI
- The team of Jupyter4NFDI is happy to announce the start of the project's integration phase! Apart from scaling up the Jupyter service itself, this phase is devoted to establishing new and intensifying existing connections to other basic services, disciplinary consortia, resource providers and end users. Inspired by IAM4NFDI, these connections will be implemented by incubator projects. Stay tuned for upcoming calls!
- More opportunities to interact with Jupyter4NFDI's project team have been established. This includes a Mastodon account and a GitHub Discussion board. Particularly the latter one welcomes the emerging NFDI Jupyter community to participate by contributing to existing discussions and adding new ones as well as filing feature requests and bug reports. The team would be very happy to see you on these platforms!
- nfdi.software
- nfdi.software will receive a cost-neutral extension of the initialisation phase by two months until 31 December 2025.
- nfdi.software has held a NFDITalk on 1 September 2025 to introduce their basic service. You can find the recording on Youtube.
- RDMTraining4NFDI
- The RDMTraining4NFDI team invites you to their first Stakeholder Meeting on Friday, 28 November, from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM. The focus of the meeting will be on identifying gaps in Open Educational Resources (OER) within Research Data Management (RDM) and discussing the underlying reasons. Please register here.

Publications and related materials
- Thank you for participation at the UC4B 2025. You can find a short wrap up on our website. All materials will be published on Zenodo.
- Service Evaluation Guide, 04.07.2025. Zenodo.
- The final report of the Base4NFDI process evaluation is available on Zenodo, and will contain the final results and recommendations from the Technopolis Group. The next step is for the Base4NFDI team to discuss the results and recommendations with the relevant stakeholders, in order to determine how Base4NFDI can adopt them.
- Requirements for Completion of the Integration Phase, 12.09.2025. Zenodo.
- Base4NFDI has published minor updates to its proposal templates for both the Initialisation Phase (v3.4) and Integration Phase (v2.3). The templates are available on the Base4NFDI templates page.
